Pressure Cleaning & Sandblasting Services
Using a variety of techniques from traditional silica free sand blasting to low pressure dust free methods such as the Stonehealth JOS/TOR System. An additional method for cleaning delicate surfaces is Soda blasting, a non abrasive environmentally friendly process, which can be used for cleaning polished chrome, aluminium and ornamental metals. Off site blasting is also available in our own purpose built 20ft x 10ft blast room.
Chemical Brick Cleaning
Chemical cleaning is usually used on very heavily soiled brick and stonework to remove dirt, carbon, mortar staining, algae and lichen. A mild detergent is applied to the surface by use of a low compression spray to soften the soiled area, and then steamed off at low pressure to remove the build up of carbon deposits and grime and to restore the surface to its original condition. Every care is taken to protect any surfaces that could be damaged from the chemicals, all windows and doors are sealed to prevent any contact with the chemical.
Paint and Graffiti Removal
In the course of contracts with local authorities in the Bolton, Bury and Manchester area we have removed paint and graffiti from a variety of buildings, from blocks of terraced fronted houses to historic monuments. Paint is removed from brickwork using strippers that are applied gently to dissolve the paint from the brickwork, removing multiple layers if required. The paint strippers are then gently washed off using a local authority approved Stonehealth Doff system which is recognised by architects & building conservation officers.
Mortar Stain Removal and Protective Treatments
We also offer a builders brickwork cleaning service for the removal of mortar stains and efflorescence which can occur whilst building new brickwork in inclement weather. Scaffolding planks can also cause walls to be splashed by heavy rain which picks up any dirt on the platforms. This creates a band of dirt which only becomes visible when the scaffolding is removed.
